A Rockford resident has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. Jesse Herbig, 44, pleaded guilty earlier this year to possessing with intent to distribute more than fifty grams of methamphetamine.

According to court records, Herbig admitted that in 2022 he coordinated with his supplier and arranged for a U.S. Postal Service Priority Express package containing methamphetamine to be sent from Phoenix, Arizona, to an address in Rockford. U.S. District Judge Iain D. Johnston handed down the 168-month sentence during a hearing at the federal courthouse in Rockford.

The announcement was made by Andrew S. The Rockford Police Department contributed to the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa R. Munch represented the government.
