A federal grand jury has indicted a Rockford man, Alex Reinhard LeDoux, 34, on charges related to child pornography. According to the indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Rockford, LeDoux is accused of receiving, transporting, and possessing child pornography in 2023.
If convicted, LeDoux faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years for each count of receiving and transporting child pornography. The possession charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.
The announcement was made by Andrew S. Boutros, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Douglas S. DePodesta, Special Agent-in-Charge of the FBI’s Chicago Field Office. The Rockford Police Department assisted with the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan S. Kim is representing the government.
“The public is reminded that an indictment contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial at which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt,” according to the statement from authorities.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), a national program that brings together federal, state, and local agencies to find and prosecute those who exploit children while also providing services for victims.
