Constance Henry, a visually-impaired individual, has filed a class action lawsuit against Dream Duffel, LLC for failing to make its website accessible to blind and visually-impaired users. The complaint was lodged in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on November 2, 2025. The lawsuit alleges that Dream Duffel’s website is not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), thus denying equal access to goods and services offered online.
The case highlights significant accessibility barriers on Dream Duffel’s website, which prevent visually-impaired users from navigating and completing transactions independently. Constance Henry claims that the website lacks essential features such as alternative text for images, keyboard navigation capabilities, and properly labeled interactive elements—all crucial for screen-reading software used by blind individuals. “Blind persons must rely on sighted companions to assist them in accessing and purchasing on Dreamduffel.com,” states the complaint. These barriers effectively exclude visually-impaired individuals from participating in the growing Internet economy.
Henry attempted to purchase a duffel bag from Dreamduffel.com but was unable to complete her transaction due to these accessibility issues. She asserts that despite readily available technology solutions used by other retailers, Dream Duffel has chosen an exclusively visual interface that discriminates against those with visual impairments. The plaintiff seeks a permanent injunction requiring Dream Duffel to modify its website policies and practices to ensure compliance with ADA standards. Additionally, she requests compensatory damages for unlawful discrimination experienced by herself and others similarly affected.
Representing Henry is Alison Chan of Equal Access Law Group, PLLC. The case is presided over by judges in the Northern District of Illinois under Case No.: 1:25-cv-13408.
