A long-standing security officer has taken legal action against a prominent security services company, alleging age discrimination following his abrupt termination. Joseph Laccone filed a complaint on February 17, 2026, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Andy Frain Security, Inc., accusing them of unlawful age-based employment practices.
Joseph Laccone, an 89-year-old resident of Kane County, Illinois, claims that Andy Frain Security terminated his employment due to his age. Laccone had been working as a security officer at the Central Public Health Center in Wheaton, Illinois. His tenure began under Monterrey Security and continued when Andy Frain Security took over the contract. Despite being assured of his position with Andy Frain through onboarding paperwork and official communication, Laccone was informed by Martin Sanders, a field site manager for Andy Frain Security, that he was “no longer needed” before the new contract officially commenced.
Laccone’s complaint outlines how he was replaced by S. Jones, a significantly younger employee who had initially missed the application deadline but was later given Laccone’s position. The plaintiff argues this decision was premeditated to replace him with a younger employee despite having already confirmed his hire and completed all necessary employment documentation. “The company’s decision to revoke Plaintiff’s employment after confirming his hire and replace him with a 30-year-old guard demonstrates clear pretext and age-based bias,” reads the complaint.
The lawsuit accuses Andy Frain Security of violating the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) by treating Laccone less favorably than younger applicants and ultimately terminating him based on age-related prejudice. The complaint details that Laccone faced multiple adverse actions including termination due to opposing what he perceived as unlawful discrimination.
In seeking justice from the court, Laccone requests various forms of relief including back pay with interest, front pay, compensatory and punitive damages, liquidated damages, and coverage for reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs. He also demands a jury trial to resolve these issues.
Representing Joseph Laccone are attorneys Sophia K. Steere and Nathan C. Volheim from Sulaiman Law Group Ltd., based in Lombard, Illinois. The case is presided over by judges from the Northern District of Illinois under Case No. 1:26-cv-01754.
