A visually-impaired individual has taken legal action against a major dietary supplement company, claiming that its website is inaccessible to blind users. Andre Battle filed a class-action complaint in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on February 20, 2026, targeting Nutra Holdings, Inc. The lawsuit highlights significant accessibility barriers on the company’s website, Transparentlabs.com, which allegedly prevent blind and visually-impaired individuals from accessing and purchasing products independently.

Andre Battle, who relies on screen-reading software to navigate online content due to his visual impairment, asserts that Nutra Holdings’ website fails to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). According to the complaint, Transparentlabs.com lacks essential features such as alternative text for images and proper focus order for keyboard navigation. These omissions make it impossible for visually-impaired users like Battle to complete transactions or access information independently. “Defendant’s denial of full and equal access to its Website,” states the complaint, “is a violation of Plaintiff’s rights under the ADA.”

The lawsuit argues that despite readily available technology that could make websites accessible—such as alternative text and accessible forms—Nutra Holdings has not implemented these features. As a result, blind customers are excluded from participating in the growing Internet economy. Battle’s complaint emphasizes that blind individuals have an even greater need than sighted individuals to shop online due to mobility challenges.

Battle seeks a permanent injunction requiring Nutra Holdings to modify its website policies and practices so that Transparentlabs.com becomes accessible to all consumers. Additionally, he requests compensatory damages for himself and other class members who have faced discrimination due to these accessibility barriers. The case underscores ongoing challenges faced by visually-impaired individuals in accessing digital services—a fundamental part of modern life.

Representing Battle is attorney Uri Horowitz from Flushing, New York. The case is being heard by judges at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois under Case No.: 1:26-cv-1911.
