The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority announced on March 27 that the application process for Adult Redeploy Illinois grants is now open.
Adult Redeploy Illinois aims to reduce prison populations by supporting local programs that divert individuals from incarceration into community-based alternatives. The initiative focuses on promoting reintegration and addressing factors that contribute to crime and incarceration.
According to the announcement, $11 million in funding is available through this solicitation, which will be distributed over a 12-month period using State Fiscal Year 2027 funds. Grants are intended for county units of government or judicial circuits, with counties allowed to apply individually or as part of a group. While other local governments, private agencies, or not-for-profit organizations are not eligible to apply directly, they may participate as subawardees or subcontractors within an approved program design and budget.
The application window closes on April 14, 2026. Interested applicants can seek further information by emailing CJA.AdultRedeployNOFO@illinois.gov.
Adult Redeploy Illinois also provides technical assistance to communities in developing effective alternatives to incarceration and works toward greater equity within the justice system.
