The Illinois State Bar Association announced on Mar. 30 that it will hold a panel discussion titled “Video Game Law: A Developer’s Perspective” at its regional office in Chicago on April 17, 2026. The event will feature real-life video game developers discussing the legal needs and challenges within their industry.
The panel aims to shed light on the specific legal issues faced by video game developers and the importance of legal education in this rapidly evolving field. Attendees will have the chance to learn how the legal community can better support those working in game development.
The program is scheduled from noon to 1:00 p.m. and offers one hour of Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit for participants. Following the educational session, a video game showcase will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., allowing attendees to try both computer and console games firsthand.
Organizers say this social gathering provides an opportunity for informal conversations between attorneys and developers about issues unique to video game law, fostering greater understanding between both groups.
Registration is required for those interested in attending.
