The Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Women and the Law held its annual tea celebrating International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month at the Loews Chicago Hotel on March 13, 2026. The event recognized the achievements of women in the legal profession.

The gathering brought together members of the legal community to honor women’s contributions to law and society. Attendees reflected on progress made by women in the field and discussed ongoing efforts to promote gender equality within the profession.

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Kay O’Brien served as keynote speaker. “Illinois women have never waited to make history. When women succeed, we all succeed,” O’Brien said during her address.

The event was organized by the ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law, which focuses on supporting female attorneys and advancing issues important to women in law.

As Women’s History Month continues, organizers say they hope events like this will inspire further advancement for women in legal careers.
