Richard Kang has filed a lawsuit against AuditBoard, Inc., alleging racial discrimination and harassment in the workplace. The complaint was lodged in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on February 26, 2026. Kang claims that his former employer, AuditBoard, Inc., subjected him to discriminatory practices based on his race and national origin, leading to an unlawful termination.

According to the court documents, Richard Kang was employed as an Area Director at AuditBoard from August 18, 2025, until November 18, 2025. During his tenure, he alleges experiencing a hostile work environment under his supervisor Parker Miles. Kang claims that Miles made racially insensitive remarks during meetings held on September 8 and September 29 of 2025. In one instance, Miles allegedly asked Kang if his eyes were “usually that squinty,” which Kang interpreted as a derogatory comment about his Asian descent. Despite achieving significant sales figures—146% of his quota in Q3 of 2025—Kang contends that these comments were part of a pattern of harassment.

The complaint further details how Kang reported these incidents to Human Resources on November 18, 2025. Within hours of filing this formal complaint with Senior HR Business Partner Rachael Gleason, he was terminated without explanation during a Zoom meeting with Miles and Gleason present. This abrupt termination followed shortly after he had submitted evidence of racial discrimination via email.

Kang accuses AuditBoard of violating several laws including Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Illinois Human Rights Act by engaging in discriminatory practices and retaliating against him for reporting these issues. He asserts that the company failed to conduct an adequate investigation into his complaints or take preventive measures against further harassment.

In seeking redress from the court, Richard Kang requests various forms of relief including back pay with interest, compensatory and punitive damages for emotional distress and loss of employment benefits. He also seeks attorney fees and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Richard Kang are attorneys Chad W. Eisenback, Nathan C. Volheim, and Chasidy K. Clark from Sulaiman Law Group Ltd., located in Lombard, Illinois. The case is presided over by Judge [Name not provided] under Case ID: 1:26-cv-02212.
