Luis Rosado, a former employee of a logistics company, has filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination linked to his rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The complaint was lodged by Rosado in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on November 26, 2025, against Geodis Logistics, LLC. The case highlights critical issues regarding employee rights and employer responsibilities under federal law.

Rosado’s tenure with Geodis Logistics began on November 1, 2019, and ended abruptly on October 29, 2025. According to the complaint, Rosado had consistently met performance standards and received positive feedback from his employer. However, the situation took a turn when his son was hospitalized following a suicide attempt due to spina bifida—a condition known to the employer. On October 13, 2025, Rosado informed Geodis Logistics of his son’s hospitalization and sought leave under FMLA provisions. Despite prior assurances from Human Resources that he could access FMLA leave when needed, Rosado alleges that his requests were ignored.

The complaint details an incident in September 2025 involving a verbal altercation with a temporary worker which resulted in Rosado being reassigned despite no action taken against the other party involved. This incident is noted as potentially contributing to the tension between Rosado and management. As his son’s medical crisis unfolded in October 2025, Rosado repeatedly contacted HR representatives for assistance with FMLA paperwork but faced unresponsiveness and dismissive behavior from staff members like Ashley Virgil and Juan (last name unknown).

Rosado claims that despite making daily calls through the company’s call-off system—each generating confirmation notifications—no action was taken by HR or management to facilitate his FMLA leave request. His attempts to resolve this through external help from Tricia at SASS also failed due to non-response from Geodis Logistics’ HR department.

On November 3, 2025, upon attempting to return to work after his son’s discharge from the hospital on October 31st, Rosado was informed by security that he had been terminated effective October 29th. The reason given was alleged non-communication despite evidence of multiple attempts by Rosado to engage with HR during his absence.

In response to these events, Luis Rosado accuses Geodis Logistics of interfering with his FMLA rights and retaliating against him for seeking protected leave. He asserts that their actions violated federal law by failing to provide necessary information about FMLA eligibility and denying him rightful leave benefits. As relief for these grievances, Rosado seeks back pay with interest, front pay compensation for lost benefits, liquidated damages as well as coverage of attorney fees and costs incurred during litigation.

Representing Luis Rosado are attorneys Chad W. Eisenback and Chasidy K. Clark from Sulaiman Law Group Ltd., based in Lombard, Illinois. The case is presided over by Judge [Name not provided] under Case ID: 1:25-cv-14511.
